Cable and Wireless Jamaica has
received the internationally renowned ISO14001
certification for the effective management of the environment
in which it operates, specifically for its operations
at the Newport West facility. This certification was
awarded to the Company by SGS International Certification
Services Inc.
Cable & Wireless Jamaica is committed to ensuring
that its daily operations and services are undertaken
with care for the protection and preservation of the
environment. In keeping with this goal, the Company
has adopted the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
in an effort to confirm its commitment to the Environment
in which it operates. This commitment is consistent
with the Company’s value of ensuring “community
and environmental stewardship”.
Over the past three (3) years, the Company has developed
and implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS),
consistent with the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard
System (EMS) Standard for the effective management of
environmental risks.
The commitment of the company is further declared in
its Environmental Policy which is available for public
viewing.

- Development and dissemination

aspects that impact on the environment.

to achieve the environmental
objectives and targets.
- Trained Lead Auditors and Internal
